New Year, Old You | New Year’s Workshop
Learn to let go of the new year’s expectations
Say goodbye to reinventing yourself and hello to meeting yourself where you are!
You don’t need a reinvention, or a new you, you’re already the person who gets things done and rises to the occasion.
Know how I know that? Because it’s only November and you’re already planning the Christmas you’re hosting. You’ve got the gift list set with bespoke things you know each person is going to love. You’re already planning the menu for the hoard of people coming over, you’ve remembered your cousin's dairy allergy, your aunt’s nut allergy, and that your uncle hates Brussel sprouts but loves the parsnips. You’ve got a stack of books on mindset and achieving your goals that reach halfway to the ceiling and you don’t just read them, you put what’s in them into motion on a regular basis. You actually love goals and working towards them.
But every January the whole “new year, new me” thing leaves you feeling like you’re failing…
You want to start the year off with a set of goals and plans so that you have a direction, a purpose for the year, it always feels better for you when you have at least a loose plan. And you’d love to look back at the end of 2027 and feel that nice feeling of a job well done, data collected so that you can make a new plan for 2028 that maybe even feels like an even better fit, more full of fun and vacations, alongside your work and life goals. That’s the benefit of that sort of plan, right?
But every year it’s like December and the coming new year leaves you feeling exhausted and behind, even though that’s not who you are.
Frankly you dread the coming onslaught of social media posts about “New Year’s Resolutions” every single year.
You're asking yourself "What's wrong with me? Why can't I just get going like everyone else?"
The holiday’s are exhausting and you can’t jump from that level of doing and output right into new year goals and not burn out. You need a pause, a reset and recovery. That and there’s no new you that you have to go out and find or transform into, you’re already awesome, you just need a moment to remember that fact so that you can build your goals from a place of abundance and self-love instead of lack.
You need…
Grounded journaling, the antidote to resolution culture, so you can look back on 2026 without being harsh on yourself or turning reflection into another endless to-do list
Permission to hibernate a little bit longer, so you can honour your need for rest rather than rush into another year of doing more
Long, supported postures that invite deep rest, softening and emotional ease, so the tension in your shoulders melts, your nervous system gets a chance to settle and you can finally exhale
A simple framework for letting go of unrealistic expectations and the pressure we put on ourselves, so you can step into the new year feeling a little lighter, without another list of things to fix about yourself.
Wouldn’t it be nice to actually embrace what autumn has to offer, instead of resisting it?
What if you could learn how to support yourself through the colder months and, as a result, actually enjoy them?
Pumpkin picking, crisp autumn walks, cosy evenings, Halloween, fireworks… without constantly feeling tired, run down or ill.
The lovely people who’ve joined my previous workshops say it best…
Sessions with Karolina helped me slow down my racing thoughts and mind after a long day at work by focussing on how my body is responding to the pose. They made me feel relaxed and ready for bed.

Karolina - yoga teacher
I'm Karolina, a yoga teacher who believes that rest shouldn't be another thing we have to get right.
I know that life can feel a little overwhelming at times. That switching off isn't always as simple as sitting down, that our minds can be busy even when our bodies are exhausted, and that we can spend so much time looking after everything and everyone else that we forget to check in with ourselves.
My approach to yoga is gentle, curious and without the pressure to achieve, perform or keep up. I create spaces where you can slow down, take a breath and reconnect with yourself, without needing to be flexible, experienced or have everything figured out.
Through gentle movement, breathwork, relaxation and meditation, I help people find little pockets of calm in busy lives, become more familiar with what their bodies need and discover ways to make rest feel a little more accessible.
Above all, I want you to leave my classes feeling a little more at home in yourself, with practices you can take beyond the mat and into everyday life.
Join Us Me For An Afternoon Of Cosy Comfort, Deep Rest & Unhurried Reflection
When you join me on 16 January, together we will explore:
Yin yoga for a nervous system downshift, giving you space to release built-up tension, quieten the mental noise and recover from the demands of the festive season.
Grounded journaling you can return to all year long, helping you reflect on 2026 with kindness rather than criticism, and recognise how much you've already achieved.
A simple framework for 2027, helping you let go of unrealistic expectations and build goals from a place of self-acceptance and abundance, rather than feeling like you need to fix or reinvent yourself.
